Connecting for a Cause: Highlights from the Emerald Coast Senior Coalition Breakfast

At Emerald Coast Senior Transitions, our mission goes far beyond helping seniors with downsizing, relocation, and estate sales. We believe in actively embedding ourselves in the local network of care that surrounds our clients.

This past Tuesday, Dawn and I attended the Emerald Coast Senior Coalition breakfast hosted at the gorgeous Watersound Fountains community. It was a spectacular morning filled with meaningful connections, powerful collaborations, and a shared dedication to supporting local seniors.

Spotlight on the Forget-Me-Not Dementia Clinic

The absolute highlight of the morning was hearing from guest speaker Jenny Reeves. As the founder of the Forget-Me-Not Dementia Clinic & Other Neurology Services (located nearby in Panama City, FL), Jenny delivered a presentation that was both deeply moving and incredibly educational.

The mission of the clinic is to serve as a distinguished center for dementia and Alzheimer's care by delivering thorough clinical assessments, precise cognitive monitoring, and personal treatment strategies. They also integrate the latest FDA-approved therapies to help families actively mitigate disease progression.

Her message hit home for us. When our team helps a senior with sorting, packing, or cleanout, we frequently work with families experiencing cognitive changes. Understanding the clinical, medical, and emotional layers of dementia allows us to approach rightsizing and relocation with the absolute highest level of patience, dignity, and respect.

Powering Collaboration Across the Florida Panhandle

Beyond the incredible presentation, the breakfast provided a fantastic forum for various senior-focused organizations to connect and collaborate. Meeting with fellow advocates who handle everything from senior healthcare to daily support reminded us of how strong our local senior network truly is.

We left the event feeling incredibly inspired and ready to bring these fresh perspectives back to our clients. A massive thank you to the Emerald Coast Senior Coalition for organizing such an impactful event, to Watersound Fountains for being a gracious host, and to Jenny Reeves for her tireless advocacy.
