Networking and Education: Connecting for Our Seniors at the Emerald Coast Senior Coalition Breakfast

At Emerald Coast Senior Transitions, our mission is to support older adults and their families through life’s major chapters. To provide the highest quality guidance, we consistently collaborate with local partners and stay informed on critical senior care topics. On Tuesday, August 18th, our team attended the monthly Emerald Coast Senior Coalition networking breakfast, hosted at the beautiful Brookdale Destin senior living community.

Learning from the Alzheimer’s Association

The highlight of the morning was an impactful presentation by Melody Joy, representing the Alzheimer’s Association. Melody shared invaluable insights into the latest resources, support networks, and advocacy efforts available for individuals living with dementia and their dedicated caregivers.

As senior transition specialists, understanding the evolving landscape of memory care allows us to better serve families navigating cognitive declines. The data and resources shared during this session reinforce our ability to guide families toward safe, supportive, and dignified living arrangements.

Strengthening Community Connections

Beyond the educational presentation, the breakfast provided an excellent opportunity to catch up with fellow senior care advocates, medical professionals, and service providers along the Emerald Coast. Building these relationships ensures that when a family comes to us, we can connect them with a trusted, comprehensive network of local experts.
